The First Aid at Work Annual Refresher course, delivered by our sister company Caring For Care, is aimed at organisations and their staff who work with individuals of all ages, including children and young people, who have already completed either the three-day First Aid at Work – Level 3 Award of the Emergency First Aid at Work – Level 2 Training and are due an annual refresher. Since health and safety legislation can often change and be updated, first aid training must be regularly refreshed, under UK law, to ensure individuals remain competent and up-to-date with the latest best practices. If you work in education, childcare or public service roles and deal with children and young people, and your first aid skills need a refresh, this course is for you.

Held over three hours, you will receive expert face-to-face training which recaps the main responsibilities of a first aid helper, assessing an emergency, administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use an AED, dealing with seizures burns or shock, moving a sick or injured person safely and reporting emergencies and documenting what you did to help. The course is an appropriate refresher for qualified first aiders who need to renew their skills and stay confident, compliant and ready to act in workplace emergencies across higher-risk environments including children, young people and adults.

This course is suitable for a range of individuals, including first aid responders and certificate holders, healthcare professionals, educators, public service workers, community volunteers and parents and caregivers. If you fall into these categories and work with children and young people, a regular review of your understanding of key first aid principles is important to ensure you are prepared to recognise emergencies, respond appropriately and provide safe, timely care until professional help arrives.

By completing the First Aid at Work Annual Refresher course, you will receive updated knowledge, have increased confidence and become better at handling emergencies, whether that be with a faster response or ensuring a safer workplace. This helps your team and helps save the lives of the individuals you work with and being certified also offers an additional layer of legal protection, meaning you are recognised as being ready to help in emergency situations.

Upon completion of this practical, hands-on refresher course, you can receive either a non-accredited award – the Caring for Care Certificate – or an accredited award – the Qualsafe Award. Regardless of which certificate you achieve, your award lasts for two years.

The First Aid at Work Annual Refresher course is delivered for employer and group bookings only, with a maximum of 12 delegates per course
