The Level 2 Certificate in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is designed for learners who are looking to develop a strong understanding of SEND and learn how to support children, young people and adults with diverse additional needs in educational and childcare settings. If you are looking to take your first steps into caring for those with additional needs, or if you have previous experience and are looking to upskill and progress your career, this course is for you.

Over the 10-week programme, learners will develop the essential skills and knowledge required to promote inclusion, equality and person-centred care approaches to ensure positive outcomes for individuals with SEND. By completing independent online learning with support from a dedicated tutor and working through flexible, interactive modules complemented by workbooks and extended activities, plus tutor feedback on marked work, learners can improve their understanding of SEND at a pace that is right for them. Learners will also have access to digital learning resources and interactive activities and receive guidance on progression routes and career planning from an assigned development coach.

During the course, learners will receive an introduction to SEND and learn about equality and diversity with SEND, person-centred approaches, SEND and learning, and living with SEND. Upon successful completion of the course, individuals will achieve the Level 2 Certificate in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) from TQUK.

There are several benefits of completing this course. From developing practical skills in communication, inclusion and person-centred approaches, learners will have opportunities to develop broader knowledge which applies to working with individuals with SEND. By completing this course and gaining a nationally recognised qualification, learners can progress into roles which support people living with SEND in educational, health or social care settings, whilst also creating a foundation for further study.
