The Paediatric First Aid Refresher course, delivered by our sister company Caring For Care, is designed for individuals who work closely with or care for babies, children and young people and need to renew their knowledge and skills in providing emergency first aid. Led by an expert trainer, this course is suitable if you already hold a first aid certificate and need to refresh your training, particularly if you work in nurseries, education settings, healthcare or any other setting where you hold responsibility for the care of children.

Held over three hours, this half-day course is delivered either through face-to-face or blended learning methods and focuses on key topics such as performing CPR on children and babies, using an AED, managing choking incidents and placing a child in the recovery position. You will also learn how to help a child who is unresponsive, treat minor injuries and manage emergencies like seizures and heavy bleeding. With the support of an expert trainer, you will cover a range of modules which deal with these areas.

The Paediatric First Aid Refresher course is suitable for organisations and their staff working with or caring for infants and children, including childcare professionals, nursery staff, teachers and teaching assistants, childminders, coaches for sports teams, healthcare assistants and babysitters. Since the course is aimed at anyone who is responsible for looking after babies and children, it is also idea for parents, grandparents and other guardians.

By completing this course, you will feel confident in providing first aid to children in emergencies, learn important skills like CPR, choking treatment and how to manage seizures and practice first aid skills to be ready for real-life emergency situations. You will learn how to treat common injuries in children and improve your ability to stay calm and manage emergencies to ensure you can respond quickly and effectively to any paediatric injuries or emergencies.

Upon successful completion of the Paediatric First Aid Refresher course, you will be awarded a Level 2 certificate which remains valid for two years. There are two accreditation options: the non-accredited Caring for Care Certificate and the accredited Qualsafe Award.

This course is delivered for employer and group bookings only and individuals are not able to book onto this course. Sessions are limited to a maximum of 12 delegates per delivery.
