Combined First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid Training (3 days)

The Combined First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid Training course, delivered by our sister company Caring for Care, is a combined course tailored to help you manage emergencies effectively in both adults and children, covering both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. This course has two accreditation options – the non-accredited Caring for Care Certificate and the accredited Qualsafe Award. If you work in environments such as schools, nurseries or childcare settings, or in any setting that cares for both children and adults, this first aid course is suitable for you.

Across three days, you will work with first aid trained professionals to learn how to respond to a range of emergency situations, including cuts and burns to more serious incidents, like heart attacks or choking. The course combines both adult and child first aid training to offer an inclusive solution for professionals and carers supporting mixed age groups whilst meeting multiple regulatory standards, including HSE, EYFS and Ofsted.

During the course, you will cover a range of modules to help develop the knowledge and skills you need to safely care for adults and children. These modules include Understanding First Aid at Work (FAW) and Paediatric First Aid (PFA) and laws and regulations regarding First Aid at Work for Adults and Children, but you will also develop essential life-saving skills to respond to medical emergencies, with the course covering CPR, choking, bleeding, shock and recovery techniques. You will also gain awareness of using a defibrillator (AED), unconscious casualty management and how to treat head injuries.

This course is designed for employer and group bookings only and is suitable for organisations such as schools, nurseries, childcare settings, sports providers and healthcare environments where staff require First Aid training.

There are several benefits to completing the Combined First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid Training course, such as knowing you will receive comprehensive training which gives you confidence in emergencies, meeting legal requirements and providing dual certification.

Your learning will be assessed through multiple methods, including practical demonstrations, scenario-based checks, multiple-choice exams, continuous observation and skills checklists. Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Combined First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid Certificate which is valid for three years and meets the requirements for workplace first aid for infants, children and adults.

This course is not available for individual purchase and is delivered as group training only, with a maximum of 12 delegates per session for employer bookings.
