The Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths programme is designed for individuals aged 19+ who want to strengthen their core numeracy skills and build confidence for work, further study and everyday life. If you’re looking for self-guided online learning with tutor guidance on a course which you can study for at your own pace, this skill builders programme is for you.

Over a 12-week period, online resources, self-directed study, optional monthly group sessions and one-to-one support will help learners to enhance their numeracy skills. The course, delivered virtually in cohort groups, includes registration, an exam and one free resit, as well as daily support, mock exams with marking and feedback and peer support through group learning. After an initial online assessment, learners will begin self-directed study six hours per week and have access to online learning materials, optional monthly drop-in sessions via video call and one-to-one sessions with a Functional Skills specialist.

There are several benefits to completing this Functional Skills in Maths course. From flexible learning to suit you and your schedule to helping you build essential skills for work and life in problem-solving, numeracy and everyday calculations, this course helps learners to boost employability prospects, access new opportunities and meet entry requirements for further study or apprenticeships. On successful completion of this course, learners will be awarded a Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths qualification, accredited by TQUK.

To undertake this course, you must be aged 19 or over and achieve a minimum Entry Level of 3.5 in your initial assessment. Learners will be required to complete diagnostic assessments via Pass Functional Skills before starting the course and must be able to commit to a 12-week intensive learning programme. Since the course is self-directed, learners must be comfortable with this style of learning and have access to a PC or laptop with reliable internet connection.

Employer cohort packages are also available for this course, with this programme running quarterly.
