The Level 2 Functional Skills in English programme is designed for adults aged 19+ who want to improve their communication skills and gain a nationally recognised qualification. Whether you need Level 2 English for work, further study, an apprenticeship, or simply to build confidence in everyday communication, this programme provides a flexible and supportive route to achieving your goals.

The course is delivered virtually in cohort groups and can be purchased by individual learners, with tailored cohort packages also available for employers. Please enquire for upcoming dates, as this programme runs quarterly.

Over the 12-week programme, learners develop practical English skills that can be applied in a wide range of real-life situations, from reading and interpreting information to writing effectively and communicating confidently in professional and personal settings. The course is designed to build both confidence and competence, helping learners develop skills that can be used in the workplace, further education, and everyday life.

Learning is primarily delivered through self-directed online study, supported by optional monthly group sessions, one-to-one specialist support, and access to online learning resources. Learners also benefit from regular feedback, progress tracking, mock exams, and ongoing tutor support throughout the programme, helping them prepare confidently for assessment while studying around existing work and personal commitments.

On successful completion, learners achieve a TQUK-accredited Level 2 Functional Skills in English qualification that is recognised by employers, education providers, and apprenticeship programmes across England. This qualification can help learners access new career opportunities, meet entry requirements for further study and apprenticeships, and build confidence in using English effectively in everyday life.
