The Level 2 Functional Skills in English course is designed to help learners improve the essential reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to progress into both higher-level qualifications or apprenticeships. If you are looking to boost employability prospects, meet further study requirements or build your confidence in communication for everyday life, this course is for you.

The 12-week course combines flexible online study, monthly group sessions and one-to-one support to provide learners with the flexibility to study at a tailored pace whilst benefitting from full tutor guidance to support self-directed learning, progress tracking and focused exam preparation. As part of the Level 2 Functional Skills in English course, you will receive registration, an exam and one free resit after completing an initial assessment online. Through optional monthly drop-in sessions via video call, one-to-one sessions with a Functional Skills specialist, weekly feedback and peer support through group learning, you will improve the essential English skills you need to enhance your career prospects.

There are several benefits of choosing this course. From flexible learning opportunities which suit you and your lifestyle to being able to build essential skills for work and life, your learning will be awarded with the Level 2 Functional Skills in English qualification, which is accredited by TQUK.

To undertake this course, learners must be aged 19 or over and looking to improve their English skills for work, further study or everyday life. Learners must achieve a minimum Entry Level 3.5 at their initial assessment and will be required to complete diagnostic assessments via Pass Functional Skills before learning begins. Although this course is offered through full tutor support, one-to-one guidance and monthly drop ins, learners must be comfortable with self-directed learning and have access to a PC or laptop with a reliable internet connection.

This course is delivered virtually in cohort groups, with employer cohort packages available and held quarterly.
