Level 4 Early Intervention Practitioner Apprenticeship

The Level 4 Early Intervention Practitioner Apprenticeship helps prepare learners to support children, young people and their families through effective early intervention.

At a glance

  • Level 4

  • 18 Months

  • Up to 100% Funded

The Level 4 Early Intervention Practitioner Apprenticeship is designed to support individuals working with children, young people, and their families across health, education, social care, family support, and criminal justice settings, providing the right level of intervention before escalation occurs. Whether you are on a journey to progress in your career or looking to provide person-centred, ethical care to individuals who need it most in the early years of their lives, this apprenticeship is for you.

Delivered over 18 months, this apprenticeship is best suited to individuals who are already working in, or are aspiring to progress within, early help, family support, pastoral care, reablement, wellbeing, youth justice, or community-based roles. To support the development of skills needed to identify the needs of young people early and prevent escalation, learners will receive a combination of face-to-face and online training. Learners will also be required to dedicate at least six hours per week to off-the-job training. This includes online learning, digital resources, one-to-one support, and workplace assessment to help you develop new knowledge, skills, and behaviours.

At the end of the apprenticeship, learning will be assessed by an independent assessor through a professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence and a presentation with questions based on a case study.

Our delivery model for the Level 4 Early Intervention Practitioner Apprenticeship has been developed to suit each learner’s needs and schedule. Instead of traditional monthly masterclasses, we now hold Spotlight Sessions; these are flexible, engaging digital learning experiences which can be completed at a tailored pace and give individuals the opportunity to connect with experienced professionals at “Ask the Expert” webinars. Throughout each month, learners will develop a range of skills, including early intervention strategies, how to assess and analyse complex situations, and how to build trusting relationships with young people, families, and colleagues.

There are no formal academic entry requirements for this apprenticeship, but if you do not hold Level 2 qualifications, or equivalent (GCSE grade 4/C), in Maths and English, you must work towards achieving these Functional Skills qualifications during the programme if required.
