The Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Diploma is designed to develop the essential knowledge, skills and behaviours needed for learners to support babies and young children’s care, learning and development in the earliest years of their life. If you are aged 16+ and are looking to either begin or develop your career in early childhood education and care, particularly from birth up until five years old, this diploma is right for you.
Over the course of the nine-month diploma, individuals will learn through blended learning methods that cover a progressive curriculum. Learners will develop their responsibilities before advancing into child development, purposeful play, observation, assessment, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and inclusive practice. They will also attend expert-led teaching sessions and take part in practical projects and workplace application, as well as observations and evidence-based activities to support learning. Studies will cover safeguarding and child protection, health and safety and working with others in early years childcare. Learners will focus on child-specific areas, like the principles of wellbeing in children, communication with children and supporting children with special educational needs. On completion of the course, learners will be prepared to work confidently as an Early Years Practitioner and progress to further qualifications within education and childcare.
