Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager is a client facing sales professional, leading the end-to-end sales interaction with the customer and managing their sales pipeline internally within Impact Futures and The Childcare Company.

Capturing business needs and translating them into workforce solutions, you will retain and grow a number of existing customer accounts, and generate new business by contacting prospective customers, qualifying opportunities and bringing the sales process to a mutually acceptable close.

Primarily, you will target high value, apprenticeship and training contacts within the public, private sectors, predominantly with large apprenticeship levy accounts. You will be required to identify and develop strategic plans to target potential employer partners, based on our product strengths and the weaknesses of our competitor’s comparable offer.

You will also devise proposals that meet the organisational needs of potential employer partners and illustrate the potential ROI. Be abreast of market/sector developments and through working colligatively with our Quality/Curriculum teams, develop apprenticeship solutions that are first to market and meet future demand.

Understanding our service offering in detail, you will also develop customer relationships through a consultative approach and build trust and confidence in their own and our capabilities through demonstration of detailed service knowledge, competitor knowledge and an understanding of the market in which they operate.

About you

You will:

  • Show knowledge of the private and public sector
  • Demonstrate a significant and proven sales background, with a history of meeting and exceeding high value targets.
  • Have the knowledge and experience of the apprenticeships sector and the wider education and training market.
  • Have experience of developing and presenting solutions made bespoke to a client’s needs through a consultative approach.
  • Have experience in effectively planning and tracking a sales process to achieve commercial success
  • Demonstrate a proven background in generating business via a variety of proactive, innovative methods inclusive of networking and leveraging and extending existing networks.
  • Have experience of developing customer proposals
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills
  • Contribute effectively within a team environment, working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Possess basic IT knowledge (including all Microsoft packages)
